Primer One and Primer Two

Students at this level vary greatly in their readiness for written work, and we aim to accommodate their needs in the way we are structuring this class. See Class Description here.

Primer One

Students who have had some beginning phonics and spelling instruction and are ready for short written assignments should purchase the Primer One materials. During our class time together, these students will receive very gentle composition exercises, with a focus on spelling and vocabulary exercises, along with very gentle beginning grammar lessons. Each student will need a copy of the Primer One AutumnPrimer One Winter, and Primer One Spring student books, and each family will need a copy of the Primer One Teaching Helps. Registered families will have opportunity to purchase Cottage Press materials in late summer with a generous group discount.
